Sparling Construction, Inc. is not just a builder of custom homes, we're much more than that. We are also a Four Season's Sunroom dealer, and a remodeling company. In short we are a full service General Contractor that excels to meet your every need and strives to surpass your every expectation. There is not much that we can’t do when it comes to your home or business. We replace doors, windows, siding, roofing, remodel bathrooms/kitchens, landscape, repair, plumbing, electrical, painting, decks, additions, theatre rooms, and the list goes on. Here at Sparling Construction, Inc. we design, estimate, build, and manage your project to completion. We are able to maintain and even improve our quality of service and product because we manage every facet of the design/build process. We manage your project so you don’t have to. It’s our service to you. We have been in business since, 1978. After many years of fine-tuning our business, it’s safe to say that we are stronger and more efficient than ever, which helps explain our explosive growth.

Dan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Business General Management. Dan started Sparling Construction, Inc. in 1978 with just one employee. He has a God given talent for designing and building and has an eye for detail and design. He has a vision for the difficult project and works will with clients establishing their ideas to actual reality. Over the years he has departed his knowledge and expertise to others within the company. Dan moved to North Dakota from Elmont, NY in 1975. He and his wife, Veronica, have three children, Michael, Craig, and Danielle. Dan is a past president of the Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association (HBA); past chair of the HBA Home Show, and a past member of Kiwanis International and University of Mary President’s Club. He is a current member of the Bismarck-Mandan HBA; Remodelor’s Council of National Association of Home Builders, and the chamber of Commerce. He is active in church activities, and was a past board member of Shiloh Christian School, and is active in many other citywide activities. Dan has been a leader from our city to other nations using his building and leadership experience on Christian missions. He has helped build schools and churches in Africa, Mexico, Dominica, Honduras, and Thailand. He has also helped raise money for Steer, Inc. for Christian Ministry Outreach by building three houses in Bismarck with all the profits from the sale of these homes going to missions. Dan is also active in youth group ministries and evangelism. Dan’s hobbies include horses, skiing, snow boarding, and backpacking.

Todd graduated from Bowman High School in 1986 and went on to get his bachelor of Science in Business & Marketing at Evangel College in Springfield, MO where he graduated in 1990. Right out of college, Todd married his first love, Kari and then almost immediately launched a very successful career in sales and management. Being one of the top multi-million dollar sales producers in his industry allowed him to work his way up to the top of management with one of the most prestigious companies In the United States. It was paramount in his industry to provide outstanding customer service and to build close and lasting relationships, built on trust. In 2001 Todd, his wife and his four children decided to move back to North Dakota to be near both of their parents and to raise their children in a great environment. Before Todd made this major decision to not only leave his job, but his industry, he realized that he would have to find a different industry that would allow him to meet his high standards for business. With that being said, Todd found a perfect fit with Sparling Construction, Inc. because not only was this Todd’s second passion, of building and remodeling, but Todd also found the same values, goals and reputation that he was use to being affiliated with. Todd and Dan make a great Management & Selling Team and communicate closely as the company moves to new levels. Todd has been responsible for the over-all operations of the company, including marketing, advertising, personnel, purchasing of new product lines, and sales. Todd enjoys creating synergy both internally with the employees and externally with the clients. He is a highly motivated individual that loves to think BIG! Todd's hobbies include landscaping, gardening, hunting, music, and spending time with wife and four childeren. Todd is also heavily involved at his church and invests his extra time and energy into helping his church grow.

Jodi Dirk was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. After graduating form St. Mary’s High School Jodi moved to Bozeman, MT than Portland, OR and ended up settling in Los Angeles, CA for 6 years where she worked as the Executive Assistant to the owner of a high-end real estate firm. Jodi graduated from Dickinson State University with a BS in both Business Management and Human Resource Management along with a minor in Marketing. With a background in Real Estate mixed with a love of interior design and home improvement Jodi’s skills fit in well with that of Sparling Construction.

Jodi enjoys spending her free time with her friends, family, and her dog Gus. She enjoys cooking, cycling, the great outdoors, and the movies.

Joe graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School and the ND State College of Science with a degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating. Joe has been with Sparling Construction, Inc. since 1992 and in charge of drawing plans and estimating. He brings a broad array of knowledge to the company as it relates to building, estimating and design. Joe is incredibly meticulous when it comes to the details. Joe’s experience includes working in his Father’s construction company and for several other local contractors over the years. Joe and his wife Sue have two sons, Rick and Brett. Sue is manager and owner of the "Uniform Center" and runs a floor covering business out of their home. Joe was born and raised in Bismarck and is the oldest of eight children. He is a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and served on the Parish Council. He has also served as an Officer in the Knights of Columbus. Joe’s hobbies include coaching youth sports, biking, hiking, and volunteering for church and other charitable causes.

Josh graduated from the North Dakota State College of Science in 2003 where he received an Associate's degree in Applied Science in Architectural Design and Estimating Technology. He became part of the Sparling Construction team in May 2008 with 5 years of exterior and interior design experience. The style of design Josh implements has a creative and artistic edge. At Sparling Construction, Josh designs remodels and new construction projects such as sunrooms, additions, kitchens, bathrooms and custom homes. Josh works one-on-one with clients to make sure the project matches the client’s ideas, dreams and expectations. Josh is proficient in designing and drafting full color 3-D renderings, which provide the customer a realistic image of their new investment. Some of Josh’s hobbies include camping and working on cars.

Glenn graduated from St. Mary's Central High School and Moorhead State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Glenn comes to Sparling Construction with 15 years of Customer Relations experience and 7 years of experience dealing with Remodeling. As a former business owner and manager in a home improvement store, Glenn knows how important a trusting relationship is for the customer. The values, goals, and reputation that Sparling Construction has made it an easy decision to join this wonderful team. Glenn strives for perfection and likes to think BIG. He has a wonderful ability to manage and sell, striving to make the customer feel comfortable. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. His greatest joy is spending time with his son.

What makes Sparling Construction, Inc. very unique to industry is that we maintain full-time Carpenters year-round. These Carpenters are professionals and without a doubt have been a vital part in the success and growth of the company. It’s amazing, but the total combined experience of our Carpenters is over 70 years. They simply are the best and we’re proud of them, along with thousands of our satisfied clients.
